A GROWING GROUP OF SUPER-USERS

Over 360 students visited the Writing Center in the 2023-2024 academic year, representing a 27% increase from the prior year.

The students who came were also more engaged: 51% of last year’s students visited the Writing Center two or more times, compared to 45% in 2022-2023.

STUDENT PROFILES BY SCHOOL

The typical student who visits the Writing Center is enrolled full-time and in their first-year of study. However, we strive to provide support to any student who needs it, and are proud to serve students across all schools at City Tech by doing our best to cover as many different times and modalities as possible. With our funding and staffing constraints, though, there are large gaps in the schedule we are yet to unlock for student access.

A DIVERSITY OF DEGREES AND DISCIPLINES

Similarly, our students are engaged in a variety of academic disciplines reflective of City Tech’s industry-aligned education. Over 40% of students who come to the Writing Center are enrolled in federally funded career and technical education (CTE) programs, and our tutors have met with students in 51 of the school’s 58 degree programs.

Detailed information about what degrees and majors our students are enrolled in can be found in the table below.
